Precision Care Prettygate Press Release
In good faith, Precision Care’s Directors attended a meeting with the residents of Prettygate.
We said we were there to listen and that we did. As stated at this meeting we have no desire to be in conflict with neighbours and we did want to hear legitimate concerns.
Sadly, once the meeting began it became clear that some of the people present did not wish to hear of our work but rather were intent of demonising the vulnerable young people who find themselves in the care of Local Authorities and engaging in personal insult.
As a result, of what can only be considered quite aggressive and intemperate behaviour, we have decided that Prettygate, as represented at that meeting, is not the sort of place that is suitable for vulnerable young people who have faced multiple rejection.
We would like to thank those who have supported what we wanted to do and express profound sadness that some people chose to pre-judge the young people and indeed tell us that “if they move in they’ll be unsafe”. This threat is further evidenced in the treatment of members of their own community who were subjected to intimidation and bullying.
Surely a society that considers itself good is one that is judged by how it cares for those less fortunate. It is so easy to give to Charity but so much harder to welcome the struggling stranger. A community that rejects and demonises its young people will surely reap a terrible reward.
